There is a new sense of purpose and activity in Nijmegen. Alewijnse and Tijssen Elektro have opened a refurbished location for AVIT activities at Alewijnse's headquarters in the city. With four times the floor space than the previous facility, it has an area of 1,000 m2, enabling growth potential for staff, extensive research & development opportunities, and brand-new, future-proof spaces for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
With this strategic move, Alewijnse and Tijssen Elektro are taking the integration process that began with the acquisition of Tijssen Elektro on June 1, 2023, to the next level. From the beginning, the two companies have combined their knowledge and resources to take AVIT in the yachting industry to an even higher level. They have achieved this by jointly developing technical solutions for all types of yachts from 30 to 130 metres.
“By merging our AVIT operations, we can serve our customers in the yacht segment even better,” says Patrick van Eindhoven, Manager AVIT at Tijssen Elektro. “Our capabilities are expanding and we are developing more innovative solutions for increasingly complex projects. We can now provide these services from one central location, which means that our processes are now even faster and more efficient and flexible.”
“Projects are becoming more complex and so we must develop our level of knowledge to build a strong position in the maritime world,” continues Patrick. “With our up-to-the minute knowledge of AVIT systems we can provide our customers with the best advice when choosing new systems or exploring service options for existing installations. These capabilities equip us to be a knowledge partner through all the phases of the life cycle of yachts, working vessels and naval ships.
“As a new AVIT solution partner, we complement each other perfectly in the market and expect significant synergy benefits," concludes Robert Klaassen, Solution Manager AVIT at Alewijnse. "This strategic step will combine the best of both companies, making us a complete one-stop-shop AVIT partner for the yachting market. We look forward to the many opportunities and challenges that lie ahead."
